British designer Susie Watson of Susie Watson Designs is delighted to launch her new hardback Look Book ‘The Magic of Making Things’, which is available in-store and online.
The new book showcases Susie’s extensive handmade furniture, fabrics, home accessories and outdoor living collection inspired by her travels and love of the English country garden.
Within the introduction of the 152-page book, Susie gives a personal insight into the ethos of the Susie Watson Designs brand which was founded on her belief that using beautiful handmade things everyday can be a source of unexpected pleasure.
Filled with beautiful images and inspirational designs from Susie’s collection of handcarved furniture, hand-printed fabrics, handmade cushions and ceramics, the book gives the reader a perfect starting point for creating a warm and welcoming home. Helpful tips such as choosing paint colours, dressing windows and selecting finishing touches are also included throughout the book.
The entire collection has been designed personally by Susie Watson and handmade with dedication and care by her teams of skilled artisans in India, Sri Lanka and the UK, using traditional techniques to create individual works of art. Extensive photography included in the book shows how each piece evolves from a sketch to a beautiful handmade product – readers can also watch the ‘How we make it’ videos on the website for a behind the scenes look at how the artisans create the designs.
Each section of the book covers a different room and showcases a variety of schemes created using the Susie Watson Designs collection. A mood board for each of these schemes shows the reader how to ‘Get the look’, choosing a complimentary palette for the paint or wallpaper, fabrics, furniture and accessories.
Priced at £25, this ideal coffee-table book is personally signed by Susie when purchased online at www.susiewatsondesigns.co.uk
