British designer Susie Watson, of Susie Watson Designs is delighted to announce that, alongside her team, she will be exhibiting her latest handmade home collection and range of hand-carved teak garden furniture at the world famous, RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Susie’s extensive handmade cushions, ceramics and outdoor living collection has been inspired by her love of her own garden and the natural palette of the English countryside. Visitors to the show will be the first to see Susie’s new teak loungers, which styled with her new range of vibrant Kilim cushions, create a stunning ‘Indian Summer’ look.
Other garden furniture at the show includes the elegant and classic Wrought Iron Table with matching bench and chairs, which is a stunning choice for a patio or lawn and can be accessorised with her range of garden cushions, wool throws and velvet, silk and linen cushions.
For a relaxed look, Susie Watson’s vintage hand-carved mango wood deckchairs with interchangeable vibrant covers are perfect for enjoying the British sunshine.
New hand-painted pottery designs available on the stand, are inspired by summer flowers seen in Susie’s garden such as the pretty Echinacea design which features delicate little bees and flowers in gorgeous pink hues, hand-painted on French Bowls, Jugs and Mugs. One of Susie’s favourites is the Auricula design which is being introduced at the show in a new Rose colour. Each of the new floral designs are carefully hand-painted using a combination of sponge painting, banding and free-hand painting to achieve the signature look of the pottery collection.
Susie Watson says “I am delighted to be showing part of our handmade home and garden collection to visitors at the world- famous, RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the first time. My love of the English countryside has inspired me to create many floral designs within my home collection, such as Foxglove, Auricula, White Rose and Hydrangea, so we can celebrate and enjoy examples of these beautiful English flowers in our homes all year round. These designs are all hand printed using multiple complex screens – some have as many as 13 separate screens. Flowers have also inspired our handmade cushions and ceramics. Their beautiful shapes and colours are an endless source of ideas. We are much looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand”.
Susie Watson’s new Charcoal Auricula Cushion design is a beautiful example of freehand embroidery seen on many of Susie’s cushion designs. Each petal, leaf and flower pot on the cushion is individually cut out by hand before being appliquéd and delicately freehand embroidered onto natural linen.
