Skilled Cotswold Joiner Sets Up Reclaimed Handmade Furniture Company In South Devon

Lovingly crafted by hand, in his workshop overlooking the sea in South Milton, Devon, Mike, alongside his wife Emma, have created a range of individually hand-made items, each one made from carefully hand-picked reclaimed wood. After serving his apprenticeship with a specialist joinery company in The Cotswolds, Mike recently moved to Devon to set up his own business to enable him to create his own range of products.

But where did it all start?

Did you know that, especially on large scale builds, a scaffolding board can only be used once? If you walk down any street, you are pretty much guaranteed to see at least one building under construction, but have you ever thought about what happens to those wooden boards afterwards? We, like most, assumed they were just used over and over again until they become not fit for purpose. Turns out this is just once! Then what happens to them? Most boards will be burned… a tree has been grown, cut down and used just once before being burned… Thankfully the UK has seen a huge increase in the popularity of using these boards for a whole heap of different uses, Vincent Trading have decided to do the same, taking highly skilled traditional joinery techniques we create timeless designs, from benches, side table right to chopping boards & trays.

Vincent Trading was selected to exhibit in the curated Spotted area at Top Drawer AW18 where it had huge success, now being stocked right across the UK in independents shops and in talks with larger companies, Vincent Trading is establishing itself as the go to place for reclaimed wooden homewares.
